Chinese engineering giant Shandong Electric Power Construction (Sepco)<\/a> has been awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 300MWac photovoltaic power plant in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, known as Rabigh 2, is part of the Kingdom’s ambitious renewable energy<\/a> goals under its National Renewable Energy Program (NREP)<\/a>. The initiative, overseen by the Ministry of Energy, aims to achieve a balanced energy mix of 50% natural gas and 50% renewables by 2030, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, a consortium led by France’s TotalEnergies and Saudi Arabia\u2019s Aljomaih Energy and Water Company finalized a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) for Rabigh 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consortium will develop, build, own, and operate the plant, with grid connection expected by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the contract, Sepco will deliver the 300MWac photovoltaic power station, a 33kV\/110kV booster station, and a 110kV overhead transmission line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is part of Round 5 of the NREP, which targets reducing reliance on liquid fuels for electricity generation while driving the Kingdom\u2019s transition to cleaner energy sources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
