{"id":1287,"date":"2025-01-22T12:33:23","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T08:33:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.utilitybusinessmena.com\/?p=1287"},"modified":"2025-01-22T12:33:23","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T08:33:23","slug":"powerchina-subsidiary-bags-major-epc-contracts-for-1-75-gw-solar-projects-in-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cheeltech.com\/utilitybusinessmena\/electricity\/powerchina-subsidiary-bags-major-epc-contracts-for-1-75-gw-solar-projects-in-saudi-arabia","title":{"rendered":"POWERCHINA subsidiary bags major EPC contracts for 1.75 GW solar projects in Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Guizhou Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utilitybusinessmena.com\/solar\/masdar-names-larsen-toubro-and-powerchina-as-epc-contractors-for-worlds-largest-solar-and-battery-storage-project-in-abu-dhabi\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1281\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">POWERCHINA<\/a>, has secured engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts for two large-scale solar photovoltaic projects in Saudi Arabia, with a combined capacity of 1.75 gigawatts (GW).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The projects, Al Masa\u2019a (MAS) and Al Henakiyah 2 (AHK2), are part of the fifth round of Saudi Arabia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utilitybusinessmena.com\/solar\/saudi-arabia-signs-ppas-for-1-7gw-solar-projects-in-renewable-energy-push\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1140\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Renewable Energy Program (NREP)<\/a>, led by the Ministry of Energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MAS project, with a capacity of 1,250 megawatts (MW), will be located near Dharghat Town in Hail Province. The AHK2 project, with a capacity of 500 MW, will be developed southeast of Al Henakiyah Town in Medina Province. Collectively, these facilities are expected to generate 4.4 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean energy per year, enough to power approximately 550,000 homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of the projects encompasses the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operation and maintenance of the solar power facilities and their supporting infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is Guizhou Engineering\u2019s first collaboration with key stakeholders, including SPIC Huanghe Hydropower Development Co.
