It is the first deployment of this advanced turbine technology at a Middle Eastern aluminium smelter, supporting Alba\u2019s sustainability goals while ensuring reliable energy supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project was developed by a consortium of Mitsubishi Power and China\u2019s SEPCOIII, aimed at increasing Alba\u2019s captive power generation capacity. The early completion underscores Mitsubishi Power\u2019s track record in delivering high-efficiency energy solutions for heavy industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis landmark project brings cutting-edge power generation technology to the MENA region and strengthens Bahrain\u2019s sustainable energy ambitions,\u201d said Takashi Tozawa, Vice President, Energy Systems at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). \u201cThe successful start of commercial operations with our hydrogen-ready M701JAC Gas Turbine highlights our commitment to decarbonizing heavy industry and supporting our customers\u2019 energy goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alba\u2019s Chairman, Khalid Al Rumaihi, hailed the project as a key step in the company\u2019s green transition. \u201cPower Station 5 Block 4 is more than an expansion\u2014it\u2019s a testament to Alba\u2019s vision for a sustainable future. Delivered ahead of schedule, it demonstrates how innovation and partnerships can drive industrial growth while maintaining environmental responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mitsubishi Power will provide long-term maintenance services for the project under a Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA), ensuring high availability and efficiency of the gas turbine. The agreement is expected to support Alba\u2019s uninterrupted aluminium production, reinforcing Bahrain\u2019s broader industrial development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project aligns with Bahrain\u2019s Economic Vision 2030, which seeks to enhance energy security while advancing carbon reduction initiatives.
