The project will support Abu Dhabi\u2019s urban development strategies, enhance socio-economic growth, and deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the rapidly expanding communities of Al Bahia, Al Sadr, Al Shaleila, and Taweelah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement, made during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utilitybusinessmena.com\/products\/hitachi-energy-at-wuc-2024\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"189\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">World Utilities Congress<\/a>, highlights TAQA\u2019s commitment to environmental sustainability and improving quality of life in key areas of the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project features a 9.5-kilometer gravity-driven wastewater pipeline, which will replace numerous existing pumping stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is expected to reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions, and boost hydraulic capacity to 120,000 cubic meters per day\u2014serving the growing needs of these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This project embodies TAQA Water Solutions&#8217; proactive approach to ensuring long-term water security while embracing the principles of a circular economy,\u201d said Eng. Ahmed Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of TAQA Water Solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy investing in large-scale, modern wastewater infrastructure, we are not only meeting the needs of our growing communities but also transforming wastewater from a byproduct into a valuable resource. This aligns with our commitment to responsible resource management to safeguard water security for future generations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is part of TAQA Water Solutions&#8217; broader effort to align with the UAE\u2019s sustainability goals, as outlined in the country\u2019s long-term strategies for reducing carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By decommissioning pumping stations and implementing gravity-driven infrastructure, the project will significantly reduce energy consumption, contributing to a more sustainable future for Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to lowering energy use, the upgrade will enhance the overall efficiency of wastewater treatment in Al Bahia and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase in hydraulic capacity will enable the plant to process up to 120,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day, ensuring the growing population is well-served as the city continues to expand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This project, as well as our partnership with TAQA Water Solutions, align with our engineering excellence and environmental responsibility plans,\u201d said Eng.
