Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) <\/a>has announced the preferred and reserve bidders for the Jubail-Buraidah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, which will become the first water transmission line connecting the Eastern and Qassim regions with potable water<\/a>, will be developed in partnership with the private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The consortium led by Al Jomaih Energy & Water Co. Ltd., in collaboration with Nesma Company Ltd<\/a>. and Buhur for Investment Co., has been selected as the preferred bidder with a levelized water transmission cost of SAR 3.59468 per cubic meter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vision International Investment Company, together with Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA)<\/a>, was named the reserve bidder, offering a levelized cost of SAR 5.04214 per cubic meter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will involve the construction of a 587-kilometer pipeline capable of transporting 650,000 cubic meters of water per day between Jubail and Buraidah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extensive pipeline will feature two-way water transmission and a substantial storage capacity of 1,634,500 cubic meters, enhancing the region\u2019s water infrastructure and improving access to a continuous supply of drinking water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IWTP project is set to be developed under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT)<\/a> model, with a 35-year operational timeline starting from its anticipated commercial launch in the first quarter of 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The long-term project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030<\/a> objectives, which aim to advance sustainable water resource management and provide reliable, affordable water services across the kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its water supply network and improve resilience against water shortages in critical regions. This project\u2019s scope is expected to play a major role in the kingdom\u2019s ongoing efforts to enhance water security and address the growing demand for potable water in its rapidly expanding urban areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
