The state-of-the-art facility will produce 180 million gallons per day (MIGD) upon completion in 2027.
The project, commissioned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), covers the Maktoumi and Sukkari substations, including their associated infrastructure.
DEWA provides more than 400 ‘Green Chargers’ across Dubai, with over 730 charging points, as most charging stations can charge two vehicles simultaneously.

The latest phase of the solar park, which covers 20 square kilometers, is being executed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, a collaboration between DEWA and Masdar through their joint venture, Shuaa Energy 4.
The tender was issued on November 14, with submissions due by December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
The bids for the pumping stations ranged from $23M to $67M, with companies allowed to bid on either or both pumping stations within the project scope
The substations, each rated at 132/11 kV with a combined capacity of 400 megavolt-amperes (MVA), will be critical in meeting the power demands of Palm Jebel Ali.
