The 7th phase will contribute significantly to Dubai’s clean energy transition, with an estimated annual production of 4.5 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity.
As part of the project’s first phase, DEWA will install dual-port 22-kilowatt alternating current (AC) charging stations at prime locations managed by Parkin, Dubai’s largest public parking operator
The project, to be developed under Dubai’s Independent Power Project (IPP) model, will be built in phases starting in August 2027
The project, which is 96.82% complete, harnesses water stored in the Hatta Dam and a newly constructed upper dam in the surrounding mountains to generate electricity.
Hassyan power complex is central in achieving Dubai’s ambitious carbon neutrality targets.
The project is the first in the Middle East and North Africa to harness solar energy for the production of green hydrogen.
DEWA provides more than 400 ‘Green Chargers’ across Dubai, with over 730 charging points, as most charging stations can charge two vehicles simultaneously.
The 120-million-gallon reservoir is on track for completion by the first quarter of 2025 and is a key component of DEWA’s strategy to secure sustainable water supplies for Dubai.
The latest phase of the solar park, which covers 20 square kilometers, is being executed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, a collaboration between DEWA and Masdar through their joint venture, Shuaa Energy 4.
The plant will have a production capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) and a storage capacity of 1,500 megawatt-hours (MWh)
