The project is part of Oman’s broader strategy to diversify its energy sources, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and meet its ambitious net-zero target by 2050.
The collaboration aligns with Masdar’s strategy to achieve a renewable energy portfolio of 100 GW by 2030 while advancing its ambitions in green hydrogen production.
Once operational in Q3 2026, Al Ajban is expected to generate enough electricity to power 160,000 homes and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 2.4 million tons annually.
The project will cover an area of 420,000 square meters and is designed to reduce the carbon footprint of the energy-intensive cement industry while supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 renewable energy objectives.
