The projects are part of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), which aims to achieve an optimal energy mix of 50% gas and 50% renewables by 2030 in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) confirmed the agreements under the NREP fifth round.
The new developments align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 energy goals, which aim to generate 50% of the Kingdom’s electricity from efficient gas technology and the remainder from renewable energy sources.
The solar photovoltaic plant, with a capacity of 2,000 MWac, will be located in the Sadawi Region and is part of the final phase of the Saudi government’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP).
PPAs for the Rumah 1 and Nairyah 1 IPPs, each with a capacity of 1,800 MW, were secured by a consortium led by ACWA Power, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
The power projects, which include the Rumah I and II and Al Nairyah I and II plants, are crucial components of the kingdom’s efforts to meet its growing electricity demand and diversify its energy sources.
The 3GW module supply by Jinkosolar will be split between two solar projects, the 1.8GW Al-Khushaybi solar project and the 1.2GW Haden project.
The projects by ACWA Power, Badeel and SAPCO will add 5.5GW of renewable energy capacity to the Kingdom’s growing portfolio
